World Peace was a superheavyweight robot built by Team Bohica, also known as the Bohica Brothers, which competed in the first five televised BattleBots superheavyweight tournaments, including the inaugural division held at Las Vegas 1999. It was an entirely gas-powered robot armed with a hydraulic clamping and lifting arm. World Peace was built by the Bohica brothers, who designed their robot in a bar after the 1997 US Robot Wars competition. They wanted a robot that could destroy opponents, but with finesse, unlike a spinner. They decided on the crusher design, and brought it to the Las Vegas 1999 event. World Peace was powered by a modified chainsaw engine driving a hydraulic pump at 2000psi. The pump provided power to the actuators controlling the beak and the lifting arm, and also powered two independent hydraulic motors responsible for driving the bot while providing steering and speed control.

The onboard controller, designed with ExpressPCB, selected the best of two 9600 baud RF links with instructions from the operator. Using this data, the board controlled the robot and arm by adjusting the engine throttle and the numerous hydraulic valves which fed the actuators. Unique to World Peace was a sophisticated control system, consisting of eight different onboard circuit boards; a processor board, interface board, dual channel receive board, I/O interface board, two hydraulic valve driver boards, status display board, and the engine starter interface. Each board was custom-made using the ExpressPCB layout program and board manufacturing service. The processor board which controlled the robot was based on the National Semiconductor COP8 micro-controller. The control system selected the best of two RF links provided by the control box and, using this data, adjusted the engine throttle and the numerous hydraulic valves which fed the actuators that controlled the bot.

In addition, the bot featured a unique custom made control box reminiscent aircraft flight controller. The right joystick provided translational movement, while the left one operated the beak and lifting arm. The front panel control allowed Team Bohica to select between the robot’s five operating modes.
Despite the thought behind its design, World Peace struggled for success across its BattleBots career, winning two matches in five tournaments. However, it did win the Las Vegas 1999 Superheavyweight Royal Rumble.
Since the end of BattleBots on Comedy Central, team captain Dave Campbell has since founded Bohica Brothers Fire, a company founded in 2008 which build and maintain firefighting vehicles.[1]

Superheavyweight Royal Rumble World Peace returned as one of five robots to return for the superheavyweight rumble. As S.L.A.M., Ginsu and Minion were immobile early on, World Peace and Ricon were having a pushing match for most of the rumble. World Peace finally managed to get its hydraulic clamp into Ricon and later snapped off. This immobilized both World Peace and Ricon and the rumble ended. In the end, World Peace was decided the winner of the superheavyweight rumble. |

World Peace obviously lost and Toro was later declared the winner of the Superheavyweight Royal Rumble. |
