Not to be confused with the Heavyweight robot that attempted to compete at the NPC Charity Open.
Whambulance was a Middleweight robot built by Team Bambino that competed at the first BattleBots IQ competition. It was a two-wheeled, silver, box shaped robot armed with a vertical flywheel. Whambulance performed decently in competition reaching the round of 32, as well as both winning, and losing two fights despite constant problems with its weaponry due to a rather powerful drivetrain.
Team Bambino also built another Middleweight, Bambino which competed in Seasons 3.0 to 5.0 to much less success. , After BattleBots Whambulance continued to compete in the Robot Fighting League to no success until 2005 when it was retired.
BattleBots IQ 2002
Whambulance's first fight was against Wee Willy Wedgy. This fight started out well for Whambulance, as it took a chunk out of Wee Willy Wedgy's wedge. However, Wee Willy Wedgy then flipped Whambulance, which attempted to use its disc to self right, but only succeeded in frying its batteries. Unable to right itself, Whambulance was counted down, giving Wee Willy Wedgy the win by KO.
This loss put Whambulance into the loser's bracket where it faced HammerRoyd. This fight barely even happened, as HammerRoyd was still having problems after its run in with Green Wave. Both robots used their postponements, and the HammerRoyd team finished working on their robot just two minutes before they would have had to forfeit.
This fight started with Whambulance spinning its disc up, however it promptly stopped. Whambulance then switched tactics, and repeatedly slammed into, and pushed HammerRoyd around. HammerRoyd however was having problems of its own, as in the rush to get the machine ready for this match the team did not have enough time to charge their batteries. This ultimatly caused HammerRoyd's drive to stop working, only able to use its hammer, HammerRoyd was counted out giving Whambulance the win by KO.
This win put Whambulance into the next round where it faced Discombobulator. This fight started like the last, with Whambulance spinning its disc up, and the disc promptly stopping. Whambulance then charged at Discombobulator, and got on top of it before shoving it into the Pulverizers where it got struck six times. This caused Discombobulator to stop working, and it was counted out giving Whambulance another win by KO.
This win put Whambulance into the round of 32 where it faced Balronic Wedge. This fight started with Whambulance spinning up to full speed, and waited in its square for its opponent to attack it. Once the two robots made contact Whambulance's disc sent a piece of lexan flying off of Balronic Wedge's front. However this hit also sheared some of the teeth off of its disc. It is unknown what happened after this, but it is most likely that Whambulance was eventually flipped again, and counted out eliminating it from the competition.
As of 2016 it is unknown if Whambulance competed at the consolation rumble at the end of the competition.

- Whambulance's name was a pun on the word ambulance, and (following a redesign) it was painted to reflect that after BattleBots ended.
- Whambulance's tactics of constantly driving on top of opponents, and shoving them into the hazards after its weapon broke earned it three unsavory nicknames in the pits: Humper, Dog in Heat, and Raper.
- Despite being designed to be able to drive inverted Whambulance was unable to due to its weapon motor tending to fry its batteries whenever it was flipped, a problem fixed in its post BBIQ design.
