Reactore was a heavyweight robot which competed in Season 3.0 of Comedy Central's BattleBots.
Built and driven by students from Plymouth North High School, Massachusetts, it was a full-body spinner with a corkscrew-like blade surrounding the dome-like shell made from an 80-quart aluminum bread bowl.[1] It also included differential steering controlled by a microprocessor.

During construction and testing, Reactore's receiver would fly off and crack a window. Reactore would also have issues with spinning up due to loose wires. In the process of trying to fix that issue, a student hid some of Reactores electronics, causing smoke to come up.
Reactore lost its first and only competition fight to Botknocker-19, but performed strongly alongside other student-built robots in an exhibition battle against Chinkilla.

Reactore, Nibbler, SMD, Mordicus, Gungnire, & General Gau vs. Chinkilla  Reactore hits Chin-Killa at full speed, knocking it away. Reactore returned later on for an exhibition rumble against Chinkilla alongside Nibbler, SMD, Mordicus, teammate Gungnire, and General Gau. Reactore was the main force against their opponent, dealing severe damage to the flipping chin with its cutting screw. At one point Chinkilla got it's lifter stuck on top of Nibbler, but Reactore managed to free them. Chinkilla then tipped Reactore onto it's side. It is unknown which team won the rumble. |
