Jack the Flipper was a lightweight robot built by Team Methodical Robots which competed in the final two seasons of BattleBots. It was a silver square-shaped robot armed with a flipping arm. It performed decently in competition, winning two matches overall.
The robot's name is a pun off of the serial killer Jack the Ripper. Artwork on the top was done courtesy of Dave Dorman.
Jack's first opponent was Little Punch. Both showed good pushing and shoving power, as well as a certain amount of ramming. Jack hit harder, but Little Punch pushed harder. Jack couldn't get its flipping arm to work on the rambot, probably because it was underpowered. Partway into the fight, Punch started moving intermittently, seeming to pause after each hit from Jack, who eventually won a 30-15 judge's desicsion.
Jack the Flipper then moved on to fight Ack-Ack!. The bots hardly touched each other in this match. While they quickly circled and maneuvered, trying to get position for their lifting arms, Jack accidentally slammed into the wall and jammed its tail under the spike strip where it joined the floor. Ack-Ack! tried to come over and lift it, but couldn't seem to get underneath, and Jack remained stuck and lost by KO.
