Scorpion was a Middleweight robot built by students from Central High School in Pueblo, Colorado that competed in the inaugural BattleBots IQ competition in 2002.

It was a black, and yellow, two wheeled, invertible, box shaped thwackbot with spikes on the front to emulate a scorpion's claws.

"The team from Central was building Scorpio, [sic] which is armed with a double-tipped steel tail on the back and steel claws up front. The idea is to spin the robot and catch enemy robots in the side with the stinger tail, they said."

It performed poorly, losing in the second round of the winner's bracket following a bye and being eliminated from the second round of the loser's bracket.

Scorpion v. The Edge After being the benefactor of a bye, Scorpion faced off against The Edge. It would lose this battle, and would be relegated to the loser's bracket as a consequence.
Scorpion v. Mag-ness There, Scorpion took on Mag-ness, which it managed to defeat, advancing to the second round of the bracket.
Scorpion vs. WhirlWind Scorpion gets tossed over by Whirlwind Following that, Scorpion took on WhirlWind. It would lose here, and would consequently be eliminated from the tournament entirely.
Scorpion vs. a-wreck-no-bot vs. Happy Scrappy Hero Pup vs. HammerRoyd vs. Angry Kitchen Appliance vs. Lethal Dosage vs. Gatorbot vs. Reaver Scorpion fighting in a BattleBots IQ rumble. Scorpion would also participate in one of the consolation rumbles. Gatorbot and Reaver were declared the winners and advanced to the Grand Rumble, at the expense of Scorpion.
Scorpion, Bulldog Warrior, Tetanus, Plow King vs. Checkmate, FLIP, Joan of Arc, & Playbot Scorpion fought one last time, teaming up with Tetanus, Plow King and Bulldog Warrior against FLIP, Joan of Arc, Checkmate and Playbot in an East vs. West Grudge Rumble, representing the West. Trojan Warrior would lose this match to the East bots.
