UltraViolent was a robot built by Team TI Joe which competed exclusively in BattleBots World Championship II.

It was created by Andrew Peterson, who previously competed in Comedy Central BattleBots with Titanium Joe and Whirlpool in Season 5.0. UltraViolent featured six-wheel drive and was equipped with a flipping arm set into the front wedge as well as two pivoting arms, one mounted on either side, in order to remove itself from obstacles should it be high-centered.

However, the team were unable to get the flipping arm working in time for the tournament, so they were only able to use the side lifting forks. It was also decorated with many LED lights, making it a very eye-catching robot. UltraViolent lost its only fights and would not return after its debut season.

Outside BattleBots[]

Outside of BattleBots, Andrew Peterson has competed in a multitude of US events for smaller robots. His 12lb Motorama entry Violent But Deadly won the Coolest Robot Award during the 2019 event, notable for its shuffling mechanism and adjustable height among other unique features.[1]

World Championship II[]

UltraViolent vs. Son of Whyachi vs. Creepy Crawlies

UltraViolent was one of twelve robots selected to fight in three-way melees in order to determine the final four robots of the bracket. In its match, UltraViolent was placed against Son of Whyachi and Creepy Crawlies.

One shot from Son of Whyachi immobilizes three Creepy Crawlies.

The five Creepy Crawlies split, looking to distract the Ewert family's robot, but Son of Whyachi quickly got up to speed. It struck one of the multibots, sending it flying into two other Creepy Crawlies and immobilizing three robots with a single attack as the swarm tactics proved inefficient.

UltraViolent tries to escape Son of Whyachi as the Creepy Crawlies are immobile.

With just over half of the Creepy Crawlies now disabled, Son of Whyachi turned its attention to UltraViolent, who struggled to move out of its own box. Luke Ewert drove Son of Whyachi towards UltraViolent and chipped away at its exposed wheels before the next hit tore one away.

Kenny Florian: "This is brutal, Chris."

UltraViolent could only show limited mobility with its lifting arms, so Son of Whyachi returned to the British entry and struck the white Creepy Crawlies bot, launching it across the BattleBox before swiftly destroying the blue robot.
"That thing lost its eyes, its head, its wings... its life!"
— Chris Rose

Son of Whyachi mercifully returned to the center of the BattleBox as only the yellow and black Buzzbot was able edge forward. Battery smoke poured from one of the destroyed bots and a countdown began against UltraViolent and Creepy Crawlies, eliminating both from the tournament.

After this, both UltraViolent and Creepy Crawlies were counted out, and Son of Whyachi won by double knockout in just over a minute.

UltraViolent vs. HyperShock

Despite this loss, UltraViolent was gifted another chance in the the main competition, after HellaChopper was forced to withdraw. As such, it faced Will Bales and HyperShock.

UltraViolent gingerly escaped its starting square as HyperShock was quick to approach. Andrew Peterson's robot flailed its arms but struggled again to show mobility using its six drive wheels. HyperShock hit UltraViolent's side before it flipped itself over, offering HyperShock its vulnerable underbelly. HyperShock took advantage, slamming into the back end of UltraViolent and shattering its left-rear wheel.
Chris Rose: "We already got stuff breaking off in the first twenty seconds..."
Kenny Florian: "Wow, that was vicious!"

UltraViolent continued to use its 360-degree lifting arms as its main method of locomotion, rendering its own primary weapon useless but successfully evading the charge of Will Bales' robot. UltraViolent returned to its wheels, but was snagged on one of its own forks and HyperShock punted it into the screws.

UltraViolent loses its baseplate.

A relentless HyperShock pressed on and managed to carve a hole in UltraViolent's underside while damaging more of its wheels. As it was finally able to maneuver away from the hazards, UltraViolent again used its lifting forks to hoist its front off the ground.

HyperShock's final hit.

HyperShock got around to its back end, ripping away its entire baseplate and tipping UltraViolent up. With nothing to hold its internals in place, UltraViolent became high-centered on its own batteries, but was still showing signs of mobility. After one final hit, however, UltraViolent was overturned again and now immobilized.

UltraViolent KO vs HyperShock WCII

UltraViolent is counted out.

A count began against UltraViolent as parts were strewn across the BattleBox and HyperShock won by knockout. UltraViolent was not chosen to be a wildcard, meaning it was eliminated from the tournament.
