Silver Shield was a middleweight robot built by Team Ice/Liaw which competed exclusively in Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.

It was a silver, wedge-shaped robot armed with a long, lifting arm at the front. Silver Shield lost its only fight in the preliminary rounds and would never fight again in BattleBots. However, team member David Liaw would return to the show ahead of the 2020 season on Discovery as part of Team Malice, where he has remained ever since.

According to David Liaw, Silver Shield was likely scrapped shortly after its one and only appearance due to damage sustained from Centipede.

Silver Shield vs. Centipede Silver Shield's lifting arm is ripped off by Centipede. Silver Shield's first match in Season 5.0 came against a shuffling robot, Centipede. "I built a 120-pounder and was beaten in about five seconds." — David Liaw discusses his one and only fight with Silver Shield Little is known about this preliminary battle, but Silver Shield lost by a relatively quick knockout after losing its lifting arm to Centipede's primary weapon and was eliminated from the competition as a result.
