Malicious Mischief was a heavyweight robot built by Team Malicious which competed in both of the original 1999 BattleBots events.

It was armed with a spring-loaded axe weapon. At Long Beach, Malicious Mischief won three of its matches, but was eliminated from the Gigabot tournament after incurring losses to Vlad the Impaler and Nightmare respectively. At Las Vegas, it achieved an equal 1-1 record in the heavyweight division, which ended with a Round of 16 defeat to British entry KillerHurtz.

Following these appearances, Malicious Mischief would be converted into the team's Season 1.0 superheavyweight Grendel.

Long Beach 1999[]

Malicious Mischief vs. K.I.S.S.

Malicious Mischief's first ever match was against K.I.S.S.. Malicious Mischief won the fight by KO and advanced to the next round, where it faced Vlad the Impaler.

Vlad the Impaler won the fight by crowd vote and Malicious Mischief was now in the loser's bracket.

Malicious Mischief vs. Exterminator (Forfeit)

Malicious Mischief was scheduled to fight Exterminator next, but Exterminator had technical issues and was forced to forfeit. Malicious Mischief won by default and advanced to the next round, where it faced Juggernaut.

Malicious Mischief wasn't finished however as it participated the Gigabot Royal Rumble at the end of the tournament.

Malicious Mischief was scheduled to fight Mr. Bonestripper first, but Mr. Bonestripper had technical issues and was forced to forfeit. Malicious Mischief won by default and advanced to the Round of 16, where it faced the similarly-armed KillerHurtz.

KillerHurtz slams into and snaps the tip off of Malicious Mischief's axe.

During the match, Malicious Mischief managed to nail at least one axe blow on KillerHurtz. In return, Malicious Mischief received a massive slam across the front from KillerHurtz, knocking off the axe tip. This was later followed up by a slam into the spikestrip from the left side. Malicious Mischief received another slam from the left side before moving out of its square to come face-to-face with KillerHurtz, where it managed to counter KillerHurtz's ram by impaling the latter's front with its forward facing spike as it got shoved into the spikestrip. Malicious Mischief spent the rest of the fight getting completely outmaneuvered and out-slammed by KillerHurtz, which never fired its own axe the entire fight. KillerHurtz won the fight on a 7-2 judges' decision and Malicious Mischief was eliminated from the tournament again.
