Minion was one of two BattleBots competitors which could be made in the only released Deluxe Metal Mechanics construction set.
The set followed the same concept as standard releases, but the parts were interchangeable so could be used to form a hybrid design between Minion and Deadblow. As the set only included one common chassis, only one of the two available robots could be fully built at any one time.

Based on Minion's Season 2.0 design, the set featured highly detailed metal parts as well as fully functioning active weaponry. A selection of alternative weapons are also available, which were not necessarily present on Christian Carlberg's title-winning superheavyweight including a large drill, clamping jaws and a pair of maces.
As with the standard Metal Mechanics releases, Minion features impact sensors which detect "damage" during play. With the added complexity of the deluxe models, Minion featured three LEDs which needed disabling to immobilize the robot as opposed to just one.
