Metal Fury was a middleweight robot built by the student team named Blood Sweat and Gears. It competed exclusively in the inaugural BattleBots IQ tournament in 2002.

It was a four-wheeled, invertible box wedge shaped robot with no active weapon. Metal Fury lost its first battle, but fought valiantly through the loser's bracket, winning three consecutive fights before losing out to thwackbot WhirlWind. It advanced through an end-of-tournament consolation rumble, but lost in the Grand Rumble to Kaibosch.

Metal Fury was part of a five-way tie for the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award along with Accelerator, HammerRoyd, Happy Scrappy Hero Pup, and eventual tournament champion Wee Willy Wedgy.

Metal Fury vs. E2 In its first battle, Metal Fury took on E2. It lost this battle and fell into the loser's bracket.
Metal Fury vs. Swiss Cheese the Wedge Bot Keen to avoid an early exit, Metal Fury took on Swiss Cheese the Wedge Bot in the loser's bracket. It won this fight and advanced in the tournament.
Metal Fury vs. Lethal Dosage Next up for Metal Fury was Lethal Dosage, here Metal Fury picked up a second win to move on.
Metal Fury vs. Playbot Metal Fury's opponent in the third round of the loser's bracket was Playbot. Metal Fury earned a third win and continued in the bracket.
Metal Fury vs. WhirlWind The next opponent in Metal Fury's path was WhirlWind. Metal Fury lost this fight, however, and was eliminated as a result.

Returning for the end of competition rumbles, Metal Fury fought in one of five consolation battles against four other opponents, including WhirlWind for a second time. Metal Fury advanced as winner earning revenge over the robot which eliminated it.
Metal Fury vs. Steven Seagal vs. Swiss Cheese the Wedge Bot vs. Gatorbot vs. Reaver vs. Kaibosch vs. Deborah vs. ShellShock vs. The Edge vs. Wee Willy Wedgy Now in the Grand Rumble, Metal Fury was joined by ShellShock and eight other robots. However, Kaibosch was declared the overall winner.
