Junkyard Dog was a lightweight robot built by Team Dog House which competed in Seasons 3.0 and 4.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was originally armed with a serrated ramming wedge which took three months to build according to the team. Junkyard Dog performed modestly in its debut season, losing in the Round of 64.
It was upgraded and renamed to Junkyard Dog v2.0 for Season 4.0, now an arrow-shaped robot armed with a small spinning flail. This version of Junkyard Dog reached the Round of 32 before losing to a former champion in Backlash.
For unknown reasons, Junkyard Dog did not return for Season 5.0.
The Season 3.0 version of Junkyard Dog would continue to compete after BattleBots as Polska Kill Basa as well as a 15lbs version named Vienna Sausage.

Junkyard Dog vs. Dark Steel Junkyard Dog's first ever match was against Dark Steel. In the beginning of the match, both robots went straight at each other and missed. Both robots turned around and both robots set up to go straight at each other again, but Dark Steel was moving slower and the left motor was burning out. After a collision between both robots, Dark Steel was moving around in circles and Junkyard Dog got underneath Dark Steel. Junkyard Dog was unable to move due to its inability to get traction on its rear drive wheel and Dark Steel's left motor started smoking. Team Dark Forces was tapping out and Junkyard Dog won by KO. |
Junkyard Dog vs. DiamondBack This win put Junkyard Dog to the final preliminary round, where it faced DiamondBack. Junkyard Dog won the fight by KO and advanced to the TV rounds. |
Junkyard Dog vs. Serial Box Killer In its first televised match, Junkyard Dog fought Serial Box Killer. However, Serial Box Killer won the fight on a close 24-21 judges' decision and as a result, Junkyard Dog was eliminated from the tournament. |

Junkyard Dog v2.0 vs. Rolling Blackout After receiving two byes, Junkyard Dog v2.0 was already at the TV rounds, where it faced Rolling Blackout. Rolling Blackout was not driving correctly from the start and caught itself on the killsaws, flipping it onto its back. Rolling Blackout was being counted out and Junkyard Dog v2.0 won by TKO. This win put Junkyard Dog v2.0 to the Round of 32. |
Junkyard Dog v2.0 vs. Backlash In the Round of 32, Junkyard Dog v2.0 faced the Season 1.0 lightweight champion Backlash. Both robots moved to the center of the arena, with their blades spinning, and Backlash drove over to the side of Junkyard Dog v2.0 and caught the side frame support, flinging Junkyard Dog v2.0 into the air. After the impact, both robots seemed immobile. Jim Smentowski flipped his controller over and hit the 'robot reset' button on the IFI, and Backlash suddenly started moving again just as Junkyard Dog v2.0 was being counted out. Backlash won by KO after 59 seconds and Junkyard Dog v2.0 was eliminated from the tournament again. |
