Alpha Raptor was one of nine BattleBots competitors produced by Jakks Pacific in 2001 as part of their Battle Bashers line of toys.

It is a strong representation of the earliest iterations of Chuck Pitzer's robot, though is bizarrely gray in color as opposed to white. The toy also lacks the rounded rear to its chassis as seen on the Team Raptor lightweight. It does, however, feature more intricate detailing such as the rounded wheelguards, fork shapes and even the Alpha Metalworks logo across its top panel.

The toy's outer wheels were purely aesthetic, as a friction motor powering two drive wheels underneath served as the toy's means of driving.

As with other toys in the range, Alpha Raptor had a trigger button which, when activated, would 'explode' the robot. In the case of Alpha Raptor, the rear halves of its wheelguards would pivot downward 90 degrees, and panels located near the top of the toy would flip up as the lifting arm sprung up also. The wedges underneath the prongs for the primary weapon could also be detached to imitate damage.

Alpha Raptor was available in both the second and third editions of Battle Bashers, in both standard and 'battle damaged' variants.

Trivia[]

  • Alpha Raptor did not receive a First Edition release, with its first release being battle damaged.
