As part of a series released by Road Champs in 2002, Deadblow was 1 of 4 robots used in the third edition of Battle Chains . These toys were smaller than most other BattleBots toys, in order to fit on a keyring easily. When a chain on the back of the toy was pulled, the weapon would activate. In the case of Deadblow, when the chain was pulled, the hammer on Deadblow would fall and rise. This toy, along with the rest of the 3rd edition Battle Chains are considerably rarer than the first 2 editions due to BattleBots being pulled off TV in December 2002 and Road Champs no longer having a license to produce toys. Like the Overkill and Beta Raptor Battle Chains, Deadblow uses the same wheels on the sides to run on vs the tiny wheels underneath some of the earlier Battle Chains toys.
