Dawn of Destruction was a superheavyweight robot built by Jim Klein that competed in Season 3.0 of BattleBots. It was a silver gas-powered robot armed with a hydraulic lifting wedge decorated with flags underneath to resemble teeth. It performed decently in BattleBots, reaching the televised rounds in its only season, but didn't get further than the round of 16.
Jim Klein returned to BattleBots with superheavyweight Black Dawn for Season 5.0.
Season 3.0Dawn of Destruction's first ever fight was against the multibot The Swarm. Because The Swarm started the match by being side-by side, The Swarm was disqualified and Dawn of Destruction won on a close 23-22 judge's decision. This win put Dawn of Destruction to the final preliminary round, where it faced Gyrax. Dawn of Destruction won on a close 24-21 judge's decision and advanced to the TV rounds, where it faced Eradicator. For most of the match, Dawn of Destruction was lifting Eradicator around the BattleBox. After Dawn of Destruction pushed Eradicator into the screws and then under the pulverizer, the time ran out and Dawn of Destruction won on a 33-12 judge's decision. This win put Dawn of Destruction to the round of 16, where it faced Diesector.
In the match, Diesector started pushing Dawn of Destruction around the BattleBox and pushed it into the arena hazards. Dawn of Destruction then was being clamped and hammered by Diesector. In the end, Diesector used its jaws to get underneath Dawn of Destruction and lifts it onto its side. Dawn of Destruction was being counted out and Diesector won by KO. This meant that Dawn of Destruction was eliminated from the tournament.
Dawn of Destruction wasn't finished, however, as it was one of fifteen robots to enter the superheavyweight royal rumble at the end of the tournament. In the beginning, Dawn of Destruction started pushing Odin II against the spikestrip and Odin II managed to escape. After being pushed around by Electric Lunch and Half Gassed, Dawn of Destruction was flipped onto it's side and was pushed against the corner of the BattleBox. In the end, Toro was declared the winner of the superheavyweight royal rumble and Dawn of Destruction lost overall.
