Chimera as it appeared for the 2004 NPC Charity Open.
Not to be confused with the Lightweight robot that competed in Seasons 3.0-5.0.
Chimera was a Beetleweight built by Team Python that competed in the 2004 NPC Charity Open. It was a silver, octagonal robot, armed with a six toothed spinning bar.
Chimera did well in the competition, reaching the quarterfinals in its only appearance. Chimera would continue competing until 2005, when it was retired. The team that built Chimera also built the Antweight, Cerberus that competed in the same competition. However Cerberus was far less successful, failing to win a single match.
The team also gained notoriety amongst the Robot Combat community for several years when they attempted to enter a Superheavyweight called White Rabbit into Season 4.0. However it wasn't even finished before, or during the event, and gained half the safety violations that event.

Chimera's first battle was against Doktor. It lost this fight, and was sent to the loser's bracket where it faced Peregrine. It won this match, and was now up against the undercutter of Nemo. It won this fight, and was now in the quarterfinals where it faced Wheelie. It lost this fight, and was eliminated from the competition.
